Participating in the UFC is the main dream of athletes performing in the MMA. Let’s remember the 4 MMA stars that rose from their knees.
Francis Ngannou
He was born in a village in Cameroon. From the age of 12, he was forced to work in a sand quarry. Ngannou has never studied because the family did not have money. He spent all his salary on food.
Soon, he moved to Paris, where he cut vegetables in exchange for food. There he was also taking boxing classes. Soon Francis was introduced to an MMA trainer, which dramatically changed his life.
Conor McGregor
Conor was born in a poor family and did not receive a good education. In his youth, he worked as a plumber, builder, and seller, which did not bring him any serious income. McGregor did not have enough money and even received unemployment benefits. Ironically, he is one of the highest-paid athletes now.
Henry Cejudo
The future champion was born in a poor large family in the United States. His parents were Mexican immigrants. The family was so poor that he didn’t always get lunch. The guy went to the wrestling section, which dramatically changed his life. In 2008, he even won the Olympics. After that, he moved to the MMA, where he managed to build a successful career. However, most recently, he has announced that he plans to retire from the MMA. He is now 33 years old.
Tito Ortiz
The boy could have had a happy childhood, but soon his father and mother became interested in the hippie movement. They also were drug-addicts. Fortunately, after a while, the mother changed her mind and moved with her son to another city. There Ortiz became interested in wrestling, and then mixed martial arts, which made him world-famous.
Perhaps these four are not the only MMA stars who rose from their knees, but their stories are impressive.
