Bruce Bowen grew up in a dysfunctional family since his mother was a drug-addicted. His father simply was not involved in the upbringing of his son, and sometimes even took money earned by Bruce. Bowen was lucky to meet a true family at college, which helped him succeed.
Gilbert Arenas was also deprived of maternal love. After his mother was arrested, he lived with his father, who could not provide basic amenities for his son. They used to sleep on the street. However, Gilbert spent a lot of time on the basketball court, which gave him a happy ticket to a new life.
Jimmy Butler`s mother kicked him out of the house when he was 13 years old. The boy wandered around for a long time until he became friends with one guy who gave him a love for basketball. Fortunately, Jimmy first went to university, and then took part in the NBA draft. You know the rest.
The mother of Amar’e Stoudemire was in prison most of the time. Thus, the boy had to survive on his own. He used to spend the night in a police officer`s RV, who, by the way, showed him a basketball game. The guy got to the draft right after high school. Anthony Carter grew up without a father. Moreover, his mother was in prison. The guy would suffer a similar fate if he had not met a representative of the charity program, who helped him enter college. Anthony did not immediately get into the NBA, but this fundamentally altered his life.
