Are there any chances in Lafrenière to get to Ottawa?

The favorite for a draft picks 2020 Canadian Alexis Lafrenière received a rating of A in the previous rating of the Central Scouting Bureau (CSB) NHL. The list of CSBs includes the best “prospectuses” from the major junior leagues of North America and Europe. Players rated A are candidates for the first round. Players rated B can be selected in the second and third rounds and players rated C in the fourth, fifth and sixth.

“Alexis Lafrenière is currently the unanimous first draft pick in 2020,” said CSB Director Dan Marr. “His play and development over the past two seasons have made him very visible.”

Lafrenière commented on the fact that in the future NHL draft pick, Ottawa could choose him.

“It would be great. It’s going to be something special. It’s a great place to play hockey, there are a lot of good players out there, so it will be a great honor,” Lafrenière said.

According to TSN expert Bob Mckenzie, Rimouski’s striker is No. 1 on the NHL 2020 draft. After scoring 105 (37 + 68) points in 61 regular-season games and 23 (9 + 14) points in 13 playoff games, he won the Michel Brière Award as Most Valuable Player of the QMJHL.

“I tried to play better in every match. There are enough good hockey players in the world, so no one knows who will be the first number. But I did everything to show what I was capable of. We had a great team this year and we thought we could achieve a good result. I liked playing for Rimouski. Sadly, the season ended so early. But health is the most important. I live in the present day, trying to think about what I can control. The most important thing is that everyone is healthy, that everything is back to normal as soon as possible. I feel honored to be selected by any NHL team. That means a lot to me.”

The Senators are currently ranked 30th in the league table. The chances of the team winning the first number in the draft lottery are 13.5%. The club also owns the San Jose draft pick in the first round (11.5%). Ottawa needs such young talents as Alexis Lafrenière, so it’s almost 100% certain that the Canadian will be on the Senators team in the NHL.
