NFL Teams That Had Winless Seasons – Where They Are Today.

They managed to win enchanting victories but failed to keep them. Today we will talk about NFL teams, who can not regain previous victories.

Dallas Cowboys

1960 marked the year the Dallas Cowboys didn’t manage to win a single game during the season. It took them a while to get back on track, but 12 years later the team won the 1972 Super Bowl and finally achieved some retribution. 

It’s now been 25 years since the Cowboys won the championship, and the current situation isn’t particularly promising. Despite starting off the 2019 season with a promising 6-4 win rate, the team lost the momentum and subsequently lost four out of the last six games in the East division, unable to qualify for the playoffs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A few years after a successful run from the Cowboys, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made history with a winless season. 1976 was the team’s first season in the NFL, and they, quite frankly, blew it.

Despite winning the Super Bowl in 2002, the Buccaneers’ performance is on a downhill trajectory. They finished the 2019 season with a 7-10 win/loss ratio, unable to qualify for the playoffs for the twelfth time in a row.

Baltimore Colts

The first team to have won the Super Bowl (1970) prior to disappointing the fans with a winless season, the Baltimore Colts were not in the best shape in 1982.

Just like with the Cowboys, the story of the 2019 season for the Colts is a frustrating one. A great start with 5 wins and 2 losses was followed by a 2-7 record in the 9 remaining games. The team didn’t get the chance to compete in the playoffs as a result.

Detroit Lions

A fairly recent example of a zero-win season comes from Detroit Lions, who didn’t take any game from their competitors in 2008.

Despite winning a number of championships before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, the team has never won the Super Bowl. The last playoff appearance happened in 2016, but the Lions were eliminated in the first round. Both the 2018 and 2019 seasons went poorly: the team finished last in the division for two consecutive years.

Cleveland Browns

In 2017, the Browns bewildered their fans with a winless season. Unfortunately, that was only one piece of a bigger problem. The record-setting team is infamous for having the longest season-losing streak (12 consecutive seasons), as well as holding the record for being unable to qualify for the playoffs (16 seasons in a row).

2019 wasn’t particularly fruitful, as the Cleveland Browns finished last in the AFC North division with a pretty sad 6-10 win rate. 

Conclusion

Despite there being a number of teams who achieved a certain level of success after delivering one of the worst performances in history, all of the above-mentioned franchises are currently struggling, with none being able to qualify for the most recent playoffs.
