Sidney Crosby for Canadian fans is someone like a God. He scored the winning goal 10 years ago in the Vancouver Olympics. Then, that goal became the most important in the history of Canadian hockey. The famous puck allowed the Canadian national team to defeat their most important opponent, the Americans, and to start the Canadian Gold Era in international hockey. Four years later, Crosby won 2 gold at the Sochi Olympics. And in 2015 he brought home gold from the Czech Republic. In all, in his NHL career, Crosby scored 1260 (460 + 800) points. In 37 matches of the current season, he has 44 (14 + 30) points.

“I’ll be better than Sid when I win 4 Cups and 3 Olympic golds,” MacKinnon said with a smile. At some moment I will say, “Sorry, Sid, now I’m the best NHL player from New Scotland.”

Nathan MacKinnon commented on the actual situation in Colorado and shared his thoughts on the team’s progress. Remember in the 2016/17 season, MacKinnon’s team finished last in the NHL with 48 points in its assets.

“I wasn’t very worried about how long it would take to get out of that state. All I thought was that I had to make an effort to become the player I could become. In retrospect, of course, it is strange that we have turned the situation around so quickly. ”

This season, the 24-year-old Canadian scored 93 (35 + 58) points in 69 regular-season matches. In the list of top scorers, he is only fifth.

“I set high standards for myself. I always feel that there is a place for growth. Maintaining the level is the task of any NHL player. A lot is going on behind the scenes to demonstrate the stability of every match“, MacKinnon commented on his fifth place.

Earlier, Colorado forward suffered a lower-body trauma. He was injured in a regular-season NHL game with Los Angeles (1: 3). In the second period, the Canadian collided with Kings’ winger Martin Frk, after which he did not go out on the ice.
