Jon Jones Puts His Career on Hold and Quickly Changes His Mind. What’s Going on? However, the next day he made a new post in which he said his new rival was Jan Błachowicz.
These Guys Are Doing Cool Business
It all started with Jones’s post in which he makes it clear that he’s not determined to fight anymore: “The UFC has not even discussed the figures with me before saying they would not give more money in case I fight with Ngannu. Maybe I will return when they are ready to offer more attractive conditions.”
Jones had already shifted his focus to himself, “For now, I will be taking care of my health, spending more time with my family. I think these guys are doing cool business.”
Jan, You’re the Next
Most likely he was too emotional at that moment because, after a while, Jones again turned to subscribers: “I had a little time to think about it. Now I’m feeling much calmer. It’s just a pity that the UFC does not see value in my fight with the most frightening heavyweight in the world. Jan, I think you’re next.”
Why Błachowicz and not Ngannou?
The choice in favor of Błachowicz is explained by common sense: “I would earn precisely the same for the fight with Ngannou as much as for the fight with Błachowicz. Ask any sane fan with whom he would fight if he were me,” says Jon Jones. Indeed, it seems quite reasonable not to agree to a dangerous fight, if one can earn the same sum of money for a less difficult one. Obviously, Jones is acting in self-interest to a certain degree. It remains to be seen who will be his next official rival. It is likely that it will be Jan Błachowicz, as Jones himself wants.
