Late in the evening of June 25th, Manchester City lost Chelsea to on the road. From there, they lost the chance to catch up with Liverpool in the standings. Thus, Liverpool won the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years. Let’s explain why it is so cool.

They Are the Best!

Liverpool is the most popular soccer club in the UK and the world now in 2020. According to a poll, 8.3% of Britains support the club. For comparison: fans of Manchester United are 6% of the inhabitants of the UK, and Chelsea – 3.1%. In Asia, where the English teams have hundreds of millions of fans, Liverpool lost only in Japan to Arsenal and in Indonesia to Manchester United.

They Have Never Been Champions

Liverpool has already been a champion 18 times, actually. The team has won everything since the creation of the Premier League in 1992: the FA Cup, The EFL Cup, the UEFA Cup, etc. except the Premier League title.

In 2019, Liverpool scored 97 points, losing only once. It would have been enough to win in any other year of the Premier League. However, that year, Manchester City scored 98 points.

What Fantastic Players! What a coach!

It would be strange if the team of champions had a mediocre team squad.  Brazilian Alisson Becker is the best goalkeeper. Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are the best pair of defenders in the world. Jordan Henderson is not the best central midfielder in the world, though, but he is a real captain and personality. The trio of attacking players, Firmino-Salah-Mane, is also the best attacking trio on the planet.

Interestingly, none of these players came to Liverpool in such a status. They all have become successful in the last two to three years.
