Basketball has always been an enthralling sport.  It’s more than a century-old history is full of the records of the NBA. In fact, there are dozens of them, we picked the most notable ones.

The highest score

In the world history of basketball, the highest score record was set in 1982 during the Asian Games. It was the match between Iraq and North Yemen ending up with a score of 251-33, which turned out to be legendary. As for the NBA, the highest scored game took place in 1983. It was the game between the Detroit Pistons and the Denver Nuggets. The Pistons won it with a score of 186-184, a very close game.

The greatest number of spectators

An enormous amount of spectators were present during the final game of the European Champions Cup between the AEK Athens and the Slavia Praha in 1968. This match made history with its record number of spectators of more than 80,000 people. This legendary event took place in Athens, Greece at the Panathenaic Stadium.

In basketball, height is considered to be as important as physical conditions and stamina. The record among men belongs to Ali Nashnush, a Libyan basketball player, whose height exceeded 8 feet.  Surprisingly, Suleiman wasn`t really happy about this gift and went through surgery to stop his anomalistic growth.  As for the women, the height record was set by double Olympic champion and triple world champion Uļjana Larionovna Semjonova from USSR. Her height was 7 feet.

The longest dribble

This marvelous record was set in Lucknow, India in 2007 by the Indian player, Pawan Kumar Srivastava. The dribbling marathon lasted three days from the 10th of December till the 12th of December. In was recorded in the Guinness World Records.

The legend of basketball, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, has proven to be the most effective player in NBA history and world history itself. He played for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers. For 20 seasons amounting to 1560 matches, Kareem has set an incredible record of 15,837 field goals.
