This winter, the Kansas City Chiefs finally celebrated the team`s 1st Super Bowl win in 50 years. The team qualified from the playoffs and the driving force in each game was their phenomenal quarterback – Patrick Mahomes. He is not even 25, but he has already reached heights that many football players cannot reach their entire careers. Mahomes won the Super Bowl, became its MVP and was honored with the NFL MVP award.
Mahomes was doomed to become an athlete as a child. He was born in the family of the famous baseball player Patrick Mahomes (yes, the name of his son is like his own name). The father really wanted his son to follow his trade. No matter how persuasive Mahomes Sr. was, Mahomes Jr. decided to choose the path of a football player.
Patrick went on the field making his debut in a university season. He finished his last season being a part of the university team with the best score in the country for most passing yards (5,052). On January 3rd, 2017, Mahomes announced that he was going to the NFL draft. Management of the Chiefs invited Patrick to the team.
He was benched his first NFL season. In the first game of the 2018 season, Mahomes rushed for 256 yards and threw 4 touchdown passes. In the second game against The Pittsburgh Steelers, Patrick gained 326 rushing yards and threw 6 touchdowns.
He was named Super Bowl LIV MVP after victory over San Francisco. That is just the beginning. His professional skills allowed him to beat more than one record. It seems that the Chiefs found a quarterback for many years.
Undoubtedly, Patrick has a skill for surprising people. And this is just the beginning of his career. If this keeps up, Patrick Mahomes could become a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.
